About us

Thrive Energy Inc. is a boutique energy advisory firm based in West Kelowna, serving builders, designers, and homeowners throughout the Okanagan. We deliver EnerGuide evaluations, BC Energy Step Code compliance modelling, CSA F280-12 heat loss and gain calculations, airtightness testing, and CHBA Net Zero services. We are NRCan licensed through our service organization, Isle Energy Consulting, and CHBA Net Zero Energy Advisor certified.

The role

We are looking for a Registered Energy Advisor to add capacity to our team on a part time or contract basis. Volume is steady and growing, and there is real room to take on more work over time.

This posting is for advisors who are already registered and actively practising. We are not accepting trainee or candidate applications at this time.

What you will be doing

- In office data collection and pre-drywall and final inspections
- Blower door testing on Part 9 residential and small multi-family buildings
- Energy modelling in HOT2000 for EnerGuide and BC Energy Step Code compliance
- CSA F280-12 heat loss and heat gain calculations
- Take-offs and effective R-value calculations from drawing sets
- Preparing and reviewing compliance documentation

The mix can be weighted toward field work or modelling depending on your strengths.

What we are looking for

- Current NRCan registration as an Energy Advisor,



with EnerGuide Rating System experience
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule
- A reliable vehicle and a valid driver's licence
- Solid working knowledge of Part 9 construction and BC Energy Step Code
- Clear written communication, since much of this job is documentation

Nice to have, but not required:
- Blower door and airtightness testing experience
- CHBA Net Zero qualification
- Part 3 or multi-unit residential experience
- Thermal imaging experience

Working area Our core territory runs the Okanagan Valley from Vernon to Penticton. We occasionally take work beyond that, and travel is paid on longer trips.

Compensation and logistics

- Pay is based on experience, and we are flexible on structure: hourly or per file, whichever suits you
- Equipment is provided, including blower door gear
- Your own vehicle is required
- Start date is as soon as possible
- For the right person, there is potential to grow into a larger role with the company
