We are looking for a Patient Advocate with a background in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Movement Sciences, or a related field to join our OWC team! This position is ideal for someone who has a strong understanding of movement, health, wellness, rehabilitation, and the importance of a comprehensive approach to patient care. An individual who enjoys working directly with patients, and understands the value of a full-body, multidisciplinary approach to care.
This means working alongside a diverse team of practitioners, supporting patients in understanding their care, developing the awareness of their body, and helping connect them with the services and expertise that best support their health and wellness goals.

About the Role The primary focus of this position is to act as a Patient Advocate within the clinic. You will work closely with our practitioners to help patients understand their recommended care, why specific services may be appropriate for them, and how different practitioners and services can work together to support their overall health and goals.You will help bridge the gap between the practitioner’s clinical recommendations and the patient’s understanding of their care plan. This role will also include administrative responsibilities to support the day-to-day operations of the clinic and create a seamless patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Duties:
● Assist practitioners with patient care plans, education and full-body scans, follow-ups, and ongoing maintenance.
● Assist with educating scan findings, treatment recommendations, and OWC services within professional scope.
● Clearly communicate the purpose and value of the services offered at OWC.
● Educate patients on the importance of looking at the body as a whole, rather than treating concerns in isolation.
● Provide knowledgeable and insightful information for patients throughout their care journey in an approachable manner.
● Connect patients with appropriate practitioners, services, and resources.
● Support scheduling, patient inquiries, payments, direct billing, and general clinic administrative tasks.
● Maintain accurate records and communicate patient questions or concerns to practitioners.
● Support the clinic team with other administrative and operational duties as required.
QualificationsRequired
● Degree or diploma in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Health Sciences, or a related field.
● Understanding of human movement, anatomy, exercise, wellness, and/or rehabilitation principles.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Ability to explain health and wellness concepts in a clear, approachable manner.
● Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-first mindset.
● Ability to work collaboratively with multiple practitioners and disciplines.
● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
● Qualified, mature, compassionate, and personable demeanor.
● Passion for health, wellness, rehabilitation, and preventative care.

● Will create a patient experience that moves beyond simply booking appointments and checking patients in.
