Your Opportunity: Reporting to the Unit Manager of the Pediatric Cardiology Clinic at the Stollery Children’s Hospital, the Pediatric Cardiology Catheterization Program Nurse Coordinator is a key member of the interdisciplinary team, providing specialized support to both the Catheterization Program and the Pediatric Cardiac Clinic. We are seeking a dynamic, highly skilled, detail- and quality-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional pediatric cardiac care. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for pediatric cardiac catheterization patients. Duties include coordinating care for complex patients referred from external centers, providing pre- and post-procedural counseling, maintaining accurate database records, and planning follow-up care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

The Nurse

Coordinator serves as a resource and advocate for patients and families, applying a Patient and Family Centered Care philosophy that emphasizes respect, partnership, and shared decision-making, while ensuring safe, high-quality care aligned with the values and vision of Alberta Health Services (AHS).

Description: As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making,



as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance.

You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).

Current Basic Cardiac Life

Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Additional Required Qualifications: Seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Cardiology professional with a minimum of two to three years’ experience in inpatient and outpatient Cardiology Clinic settings required. The ideal candidate will have case coordination experience, knowledge of pediatric cardiac catheterization, and a strong background in research, quality improvement initiatives, program data management, and guideline development. Requires excellent assessment, critical-thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and patient care skills.

Candidates must be adaptable, self-directed, and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-faceted workplace, working independently while collaborating effectively in a multidisciplinary team and maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities include multitasking between inpatients and outpatients, providing nursing follow-up within Scope of Practice, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and teaching required. The successful candidate will contribute to policy and procedure development and support a holistic, integrated approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.

Physical demands include lifting, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing, sitting, and walking required.

Preferred Qualifications: Competency in Connect Care, Netcare, and WCCHN programs a definite asset.
