Society provides a continuum of support services supporting people with complex life circumstances associated with substance-related and concurrent disorders and homelessness, empowering them to improve their lives through client-centered, evidence-based best practices.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities The RN will report directly to the Head Nurse. The primary responsibility, along with providing frontline nursing care, will be serving as a liaison between the prescribers, the nurses, and the clients.

Duties will include:

- Act as a role model and clinical resource for LPNs.
- Provide support and guidance to LPNs and other staff on the floor.
- Support a respectful workplace and excellent practice by using effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills to resolve staff issues and strengthen interpersonal relationships.
- Role model quality patient care and team effectiveness through building capacity, teaching, and mentoring.
- Coordinate daily workload and delegate tasks as necessary based on staff roles and responsibilities.
- Perform venipuncture and ECGs and train LPNs to complete these procedures safely and within scope of practice.
- Ensure staff are current with important updates and communications from the leadership team.
- Process new admissions and orders for clients.




- Assist with narcotic counts and with the resolution of medication discrepancies.
- Provide prescribers with a general overview of planned admissions, discharges, current bed availability, and any outstanding items.
- Support admission assessments and intakes.
- Liaison with pharmacy
- Ensure the shift exchange results in an effective transfer of patient care information during and between shifts.
- Assist with orientation and buddy shifts for new LPN staff.
- Assist with current policy and procedure rollouts.
- Ensure procedures are being followed by nursing team.
- Work collaboratively with other disciplines, agencies, and health care providers to promote coordinated service, quality care, and access to appropriate resources for clients.
- Maintain current working knowledge of relevant policies, acts, legislations, and standards.

Position Qualifications

- Knowledge of health services is available for vulnerable populations.
- Degree in Nursing as well as active registration with CARNA with knowledge of related standards of practice.
- Knowledge of nursing theory and practice within client/family-centered, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction practices.
- Demonstrated leadership, superior problem-solving, critical thinking skills, and strong team building skills.




- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Knowledge of community and outpatient resources.
