Summary of Position

- Overall provision of professional nursing care based on his/her knowledge of the resident/client, their health and the environment.
- Overall leadership in the form of the Team Leader by providing guidance and support for the Personal Support Worker

Shifts Include: Days, Evenings, Nights, and Weekends. No Guaranteed Hours.

Background/Qualifications

- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RPN.
- Current CPR Heart Saver Certificate required.
- Completion of Pharmacology Certificate.
- Ability to plan care using Resident Assessment Instrument–Minimum Data Set 2.0(RAI-MDS 2.0)
- Recent related work experience in Geriatrics.
- Certification as a “Psychogeriatric Resource” with P.I.E.C.E.S. training, preferred.
- Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) training, preferred.
- Knowledge of diseases and conditions causing memory impairment in frail elderly populations; experience with memory impaired population.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able and willing to work as an effective team member.
- Demonstrated commitment to relationship-centred care.–
- Demonstrated flexibility and organizational skills.
- Must be capable of meeting the physical demands of the job and apply effective body mechanics.




- Demonstrate effective and communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to follow and give written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work in a computerized environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to relationship-centred care.
