Company Description Resilience Biosciences Inc. (RBI) is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing non-opioid, evidence-based herbal and small-molecule therapeutics. The company’s programs target opioid withdrawal, withdrawal-associated pain, and related cognitive deficits, aiming to improve outcomes for individuals affected by substance use disorders. RBI integrates foundational research with translational development to accelerate the path to market.

Team members collaborate across disciplines to advance safe, effective alternatives to existing opioid-based treatments.

Role Description The Research Associate, Chemistry position is a short-term (4 months), full-time, and on-site role based in Vancouver, BC. This role focuses on designing, synthesizing, and characterizing small molecules aligned with RBI’s therapeutic programs. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing laboratory experiments, optimizing synthetic routes, conducting analytical testing, and interpreting data to inform structure–activity relationships.

The research associate will document experimental procedures, prepare technical reports, and present findings to internal teams and external collaborators. The role also involves working closely with interdisciplinary colleagues in biology, pharmacology, and clinical development to translate research outcomes into candidate therapeutics.

Qualifications

Strong laboratory skills in organic and medicinal chemistry, including synthesis, purification, and characterization of small molecules.

Demonstrated research experience in chemistry or related fields, with a track record of independent experimental design and problem-solving.





Ability to understand molecular properties, reaction mechanisms, and analytical methods.

Proficiency in data analysis, interpretation of spectroscopic and chromatographic data, and use of appropriate software tools.

BSc, MSc, or PhD in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related discipline (graduate degrees an asset and will be given priority).

Familiarity with drug discovery workflows, including hit-to-lead optimization and ADME considerations, is an asset.

Knowledge of regulatory and safety practices in chemical and biopharmaceutical laboratories.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to prepare publications, presentations, and documentation for diverse audiences.

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting and manage multiple projects with attention to detail and timelines.

Compensation $5,000 CAD per month of employment, 4 month term (with opportunity for extension at conclusion of the initial term).
