BBA is searching for a Senior Landscape Architect to join our Québec City office. The successful candidate will plan, manage and execute projects or project components while ensuring quality and meeting client expectations.
Responsibilities
- Plan production: analyze project needs, define objectives, develop timelines, set budgets and identify potential solutions.
- Organize human and material resources: define tasks, allocate workloads and determine required materials.
- Lead effectively: ensure tasks are carried out, motivate the team, communicate clearly and make necessary adjustments.
- Supervise team members in an advisory role, set and monitor objectives and deadlines, take corrective action when needed, and provide post‑mortem feedback.
- Manage and coordinate projects: schedule, budget, quality, OHS, regulatory and client requirement compliance.
- Manage human resources: advisory role, training, performance assessment, discipline management.
- Train team members in landscape studies, human environments, visual assessment and integration of future facilities.
- Support department members in acquiring expertise in landscape studies, human environments and visual assessments.
- Set objectives for team members and manage the team's material resources.
- Communicate and ensure compliance with corporate policies (HR, OHS, finance).
- Review designs, construction plans, specifications and related documents before sending them to clients.
- Review reports, methodology and relevance of analysis and results.
- Follow up with clients during project execution.
- Sign and seal project documents and deliver them to clients.
- Maintain strong client relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in landscape architecture.
- Over 10 years of experience in similar positions.
- Member of the Association des architectes paysagistes du Québec (AAPQ).
- Expertise in urban, recreational and natural design as well as landscape and environmental impact assessments.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills for public presentations, municipal hearings and qualified bodies.
- Autonomy, versatility, creativity and initiative.
- Strong interest in environmental and social issues.
- Project management skills and ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
- Advanced level of English to collaborate effectively with BBA offices or clients outside Québec.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
