We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Youth Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and individuals, providing support and guidance to foster their development and well-being. This role involves engaging with youth in various settings, promoting positive behaviour, and creating a safe and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging programs and activities tailored to the needs of children and youth.
- Oversee the daily life of youth, including wake-up routines, meals,chores,and bedtimes, while ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Foster positive relationships with children and youths, encouraging their social skills and emotional growth.
- Teach and encourage skills in areas like cooking, budgeting,hygiene,and personal responsibility to foster independence.
- Ensure the safety and security of the residential workplace by conducting safety checks and managing belongings.
- Maintain accurate records of youth progress,incidents, and daily activities.
- Ability to de-escalate conflicts and find solutions in challenging situations.
Requirements
- Experience working with children and youths in recreational and home-setting settings is preferred.
- Strong teaching skills to effectively engage youth in learning activities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with children, families, and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of youth.
Job Type: Casual Pay: $21.50-$22.50 per hour
