Role and Objectives:

The Resource role contributes to a safe, clean, and efficient workplace by assisting production teams, maintaining facility cleanliness, supporting material flow, and performing a variety of hands-on tasks based on site needs.

Responsibilities:

- Follow and uphold all company policies, safe work procedures, and PPE requirements
- Participate in safety talks, orientations, and ongoing training
- Identify and report hazards or unsafe conditions promptly
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, operators, and team members
- Work safely around equipment, traffic, and active production areas
- Maintain clean floors, walkways, work areas, sheds, and yard spaces
- Perform sweeping, blowing down, dust control, and debris removal with awareness of combustible dust hazards
- Access machine centres for debris removal as scheduled
- Remove garbage, recycling, wood waste, trim bins, and off-cut materials
- Support custodial tasks (cleaning lunchrooms, washrooms, offices) as needed
- Conduct basic cleaning of tools and equipment (forklifts, vehicles, etc.).
- Support production through material handling, cleanup, and general assistance
- Provide support to modular operations as trained
- Assist with simple operational or production tasks as assigned
- Support documentation and follow established procedures related to assigned tasks
- Assist in training new team members in fundamental role duties where appropriate
- Transfer materials, parts, or supplies between sites when required
- Safely use hand tools and basic power tools (brooms, hoses, drills, blowers, saws, etc.)
- Conduct pre-use checks and report issues immediately
- Support basic equipment functions such as chipper or boiler feed systems under direction
- Operate mobile equipment only when trained and authorized (e.g., forklifts, skid steers, & yard equipment)
- Spring/Summer: Groundskeeping, weed trimming, debris removal, dust mitigation, yard tidiness
- Fall/Winter: Snow removal (shoveling, salting, equipment assisted as trained), winterizing tasks, ensuring safe access around buildings
- Year-round: Yard and shed cleanliness, walkway maintenance, road and site upkeep. Maintain roadways, walkways, and building entrances to ensure consistent access and safety
- Perform intermediate lockouts and guiding others on,



understanding basic energy sources and following documented procedures. Able to provide verification on basic lockouts
- Participate in hazard identification, reporting, and corrective actions
- Maintain required documentation, including safety sign-offs, pre-shift reviews, and compliance tasks
- Maintain professional conduct and follow break and attendance expectations
- Conduct Boiler Safety Awareness (BSA) Boiler monitoring and general supervision plant checks
- Complete watchperson rounds following regulatory and internal standards
- Document findings and immediately report any abnormal conditions to qualified personnel
- Maintain accurate records of checks as required by safety procedures or regulations
- Perform other tasks as required to support site-wide operations

Requirements:

- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Plant Operator program or certificate would be considered an asset
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, construction, or production environment is an asset but not required
- Experience using basic hand tools, power tools, or woodworking equipment is an advantage
- On-the-job training will be provided for all key tasks, including safety procedures, equipment use, and quality standards
- A commitment to safety in the workplace
- Flexible approach to work tasks with a willingness to support other departments as required
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team
- Must have a reliable method of transportation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, specifications, and work instructions
- Skilled in operating basic woodworking and fabrication equipment

Working Conditions:

- Location: 215 Orchard Ave, Castlegar BC
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm
- Exposure to noise, dust, weather, and heavy equipment activity, and overlapping work-zones
- Exposure to safety lockouts and access to equipment
- Requires frequent walking, bending, lifting (up to 40-50 lbs.) and use of hand tools
- Ability to hear, and talk, occasionally on radio in an industrial setting
- Occasional climbing and carrying
- Required to wear appropriate PPE at all times
- Work may involve standing or walking for extended periods
- Flexibility to adjust tasks during production changes, downtime,



or emergent operational needs
