You'll build and manage Sharia-compliant portfolios, work closely with our Sharia Advisory Board and compliance team. This is a chance to help shape one of Canada's only dedicated halal wealth management platforms as it scales.Key ResponsibilitiesManage discretionary, Sharia-compliant investment portfolios for individual and institutional clients across Ontario, BC, Alberta, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.Apply the firm's proprietary Sharia screening methodology, aligned with AAOIFI standards, in partnership with the Sharia Advisory Board.Conduct fundamental research, security selection, and asset allocation across equity and fixed-income mandates.Monitor portfolio performance, rebalance holdings, and manage risk within client and regulatory mandates.Ensure all advisory activity complies with NI 31-103 and applicable provincial securities regulations.Work with the Chief Compliance Officer on KYC/suitability reviews, account documentation,



and regulatory filings.Support client-facing work: portfolio reviews, investment updates, and occasional client meetings or webinars.Stay current on Sharia-compliant investing standards, halal screening methodology, and Canadian capital markets.What You'll NeedEligible for registration as an Advising Representative under NI 31-103, meaning either:A CFA Charter plus 12 months of relevant investment management experience within the past 36 months, orThe Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation plus 48 months of relevant investment management experience, with at least 12 months in the past 36 months.3+ years of discretionary portfolio management or equivalent investment experience.Strong grounding in equity and fixed-income analysis, portfolio construction, and risk management.A clean regulatory record and eligibility for registration with relevant provincial securities commissions.Genuine interest in Sharia-compliant/Islamic finance principles; prior experience is a plus, but we'll train the right candidate on our screening methodology.Strong communication skills and comfort presenting to clients and internal stakeholders.Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.Nice to HavePrior experience at a boutique portfolio manager, EMD, or independent wealth management firm.Familiarity with halal/Sharia-compliant ETFs or mutual funds.Additional language skills relevant to Muslim-Canadian communities (e.G., Arabic, Urdu) are an asset.What We OfferThe opportunity to help build out Canada's leading Sharia-compliant wealth management platform.A collaborative, mission-driven culture with colleagues across the US, Canada, and international markets.Competitive compensation and benefits, plus support for continuing education (CFA/CIM).Direct mentorship from senior portfolio managers and access to the firm's Sharia Advisory Board.ShariaPortfolio Canada Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
