Support Team Member

Social Restaurant + Lounge | Ottawa, ON

Social Restaurant + Lounge is looking for an outgoing, polished, and hospitality-driven individual to join our Support Team.

At Social, our Support role is a combination of hosting and server assistance. Support team members are an important part of both the guest experience and the flow of service — welcoming guests at the door, managing reservations and seating, assisting servers on the floor, and helping ensure every guest feels genuinely looked after from the moment they arrive until they leave.

We’re looking for someone who is charismatic, confident, hardworking, and naturally good with people. Someone who understands that great hospitality isn't just about completing tasks — it's about noticing people, anticipating what they need, and finding small opportunities to make their day better.

What You'll Do

As a member of our Support Team, your responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of the restaurant and the shift.

At the door, you will:

- Warmly welcome guests and set the tone for their experience at Social
- Manage reservations, guest information, waitlists, and table assignments using OpenTable
- Coordinate seating and table availability with servers and management
- Answer phones and assist with reservation inquiries and guest requests
- Recognize returning guests and pay attention to guest preferences and special occasions
- Communicate confidently and professionally with guests, including during busy periods or when managing wait times
- Help create an organized, welcoming, and polished arrival experience





On the floor, you will:

- Work alongside servers and bartenders to help deliver smooth, attentive service
- Assist with running food and beverages
- Clear, reset, and prepare tables efficiently between guests
- Maintain water service and assist with other guest needs throughout their experience
- Keep dining areas clean, organized, and ready for service
- Communicate guest requests and important information to the appropriate team members
- Anticipate what servers, guests, and the restaurant need rather than waiting to be asked
- Jump in wherever needed to keep service moving

Who We're Looking For Previous experience in an upscale, fine dining, or polished full-service restaurant environment is strongly preferred.

Experience with OpenTable is also highly valued, as reservation and table management are an important part of the role.

Beyond experience, we're looking for the right personality.

Availability Schedule flexibility is important for this position.

We are specifically looking for someone with availability to work a combination of daytime and evening shifts, including weekends.

Because our Support Team works across different areas of the restaurant, we're looking for someone who is adaptable and comfortable taking on different responsibilities from one shift to the next.
