Retail Associate / Design Consultant / Merchandiser

Part-Time | Interior Matters | Sherwood Park

Interior Matters is looking for a energetic, incredibly creative and design-driven individual to join our team.

This is not your typical retail position. We are looking for someone who can wear many hats—someone who is just as comfortable styling a beautiful display as they are receiving a shipment, helping a client select the perfect sofa, or recognizing when a customer could benefit from our in-home interior design services.

The Role

As our Retail Associate / Design Consultant / Merchandiser, you will be involved in many aspects of the store, including:

- Receiving, unpacking, pricing and organizing incoming inventory
- Creating beautiful, inspiring displays throughout the store
- Merchandising and continually refreshing the showroom
- Assisting clients with furniture, home décor, accessories and finishing touches for their homes
- Helping clients select the perfect sofa, chair, table, artwork or décor piece
- Providing knowledgeable, elevated and genuinely helpful customer service
- Recognizing opportunities to introduce clients to our in-home interior design services
- Processing sales and assisting with day-to-day retail operations
- Working with inventory, product information and our point-of-sale system
- Keeping the showroom,



stock and receiving areas organized and running smoothly
- Working closely with our designers and the rest of the IM team

Who We’re Looking For We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly creative with an exceptional eye for interiors and décor
- Experienced in retail and confident working directly with customers
- Knowledgeable and experienced in interior design, furniture, styling or home décor
- Dynamic, energetic and able to move easily between different responsibilities
- A self-starter who sees what needs to be done and jumps in
- Mature, dependable and responsible
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- An excellent communicator with strong customer service skills
- A true team player who understands that everyone pitches in
- Flexible and willing to take on many different roles throughout the day
- Experience with Shopify is a definite plus

We are looking for someone who doesn't need to stay in one lane. You may be merchandising a new collection in the morning, receiving and pricing new inventory in the afternoon, and helping a client pull together the perfect pieces for their living room before the day is over. If you have a strong design eye, retail experience, creativity, initiative and a genuine love of helping people create beautiful homes, we’d love to meet you.

Part-time or full-time opportunities available.
