Ready to suit up as a Retail Security Guard

As a Retail Security Guard, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe environment through proactive patrolling, strong situational awareness, and effective surveillance. You will help prevent shoplifting and security incidents while using excellent communication, conflict resolution, and de-escalation skills to address situations professionally and respectfully.

- Part-time opportunity: Thursday to Saturday, 16:00 to 20:00 (4-hour shifts)

Responsibilities for Retail Security Guard

- Patrol critical areas to identify and deter suspicious activity




- Verify identification and control access to secure areas
- Respond promptly to incidents or potential threats and document all actions taken
- Monitor and ensure the proper functioning of alarms and surveillance systems
- Respond to alarms and conduct on-site investigations as required
- Collaborate with law enforcement during serious incidents

Qualifications for Retail Security Guard

- Be authorized to work in Canada
- Hold a valid BC security license
- First aid certification - an asset
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift
- Alert, detail-oriented, with strong situational awareness
- Demonstrated ability to act decisively in high-pressure situations
- Robust report writing skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
