Job Overview
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy seeks a Traveling Field Service Technician to support wind power services worldwide. The role involves executing pre‑defined technical tasks and providing on‑site and remote maintenance for turbine equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre‑defined technical tasks such as basic commissioning, component integration, and basic engineering on turbine systems.
- Support customers remotely and on‑site, delivering 2nd and 3rd level user support.
- Coordinate defined service operations and resolve product issues for customer equipment.
- Adhere to defined processes, applicable regulations, and safety standards.
- Diagnose and resolve problems independently and efficiently.
- Participate in development of new field procedures and best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of wind turbine experience.
- Experience with major component exchange, turbine erection, or decommissioning.
- Flexibility to travel up to 100 % of the time and residence within 50 miles of a major airport.
- Ability to work suspended from heights and in confined spaces.
- Clean driving record and successful pre‑hire drug screening.
Travel & Physical Requirements
The position requires 100 % travel. Candidates must be able to work in hazardous environments, including suspension from heights and confined spaces, and live within 50 miles of a major airport.
Compensation & Advantages
- Base salary range: $56,000 – $80,000 CAD.
