Estimating Manager – Toronto, ONSeeking an experienced Estimating Manager to support major rail and transit infrastructure programs. Responsibilities include developing and validating capital cost estimates across the full project lifecycle.ResponsibilitiesPrepare Class 5 and Class 4 estimates for major rail and transit projects, including track, guideway, stations, systems, utilities and civil works.Develop quantity takeoffs, cost build‑ups and basis‑of‑estimate documentation.Review and challenge contractor and consultant estimates (Class 3 to 1) for accuracy, completeness and alignment with Progressive Design‑Build processes.Support estimate reconciliation sessions and validate change orders and target price adjustments.Provide benchmarking variance analysis and contribute to contingency and risk assessments. Collaborate with engineering, planning, procurement, commercial and project management office teams to validate cost inputs.Maintain knowledge of market conditions, labour rates, materials pricing and productivity in the rail/transit sector.Prepare concise estimate summaries and presentations for senior leadership and stage‑gate approvals.QualificationsDegree in Engineering, Construction Management,



Quantity Surveying or related field.15+ years rail/transit estimating experience or major linear infrastructure projects.Strong collaboration and communication skills to navigate a dynamic setting and adapt rapidly to changes.Strong knowledge of trackworks, civil structures, utilities, station construction and transit systems.Experience reviewing and validating contractor estimates in Progressive Design‑Build settings.Proficiency with estimating tools and interpreting engineering drawings/specifications. Excellent analytical, communication and technical writing skills.Familiarity with AACE estimating classifications and cost assurance standards.The base salary range for this position is $185,000.00 to $210,000.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across Ontario, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
