About the Role The Contract Support Worker is responsible for providing individualized support to persons with developmental disabilities in accordance with the terms and requirements of the assigned support contract. This position supports individuals in developing and maintaining skills and competencies that assist them in pursuing their goals, objectives, and aspirations.

The Contract Support

Worker provides teaching, training, care, and assistance as identified within the individual’s support plan, while following the agency’s philosophy, policies, and procedures. Support may include assisting individuals with home living, community participation, recreational activities, and other areas identified within the scope of the contract.

Your responsibilities may include

- Supporting individuals with their daily routines and daily activities
- Medication administration
- Meal preparation
- Providing personal care and behavioural supports
- Supporting individuals during community outings and activities
- Providing transportation to community activities,



including activities at the SASH Community Access building in Magrath
- Promoting independence, choice, dignity, and participation in the community
- Maintaining a safe, supportive, and respectful environment

Qualifications The successful candidate will have:
- Diploma in Disability Supports or related education preferred
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Experience providing personal care and behavioural supports
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and general computer use
- $2,000,000 in liability home insurance coverage

Required Certifications & Documentation The successful candidate must have, or be willing to obtain within 90 days:
- Emergency First Aid/CPR
- APRP
- SIVA
- Medication Administration

Training may be provided through the agency, or candidates may provide current certifications. A clear criminal record check, including the Vulnerable Sector Check, is required.

Driver Requirements

- A valid Class 5 driver's licence, clean driver's abstract, and reliable vehicle are required.
- Candidates must also have $2,000,000 in liability insurance coverage.
