Job Summary:

As a Housekeeping Associate, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standard of cleanliness for Heeman’s customers and staff.

You will follow a daily checklist that includes cleaning staff and customer bathrooms, restocking cleaning agents and disinfectants, disposing of garbage, wiping down surfaces and other housekeeping duties. You will bring the Heeman’s customer experience to life by making the shopping space spic and span.

Employment Type:

- Part-time, seasonal September - November

Responsibilities:

- Ensuring the Greenhouse is a clean, shoppable environment and “Happy Place” for all customers and staff.
- Wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when cleaning.
- Cleaning customer and staff bathrooms and portable toilets
- Wiping and sanitizing all high-touch, high-traffic areas in the greenhouses and offices, including but not limited to door handles, light switches, on-off buttons, touch screens, as well as computers and devices.
- Replenishing sanitation supplies in all areas and departments of the greenhouses and workspaces.
- Preparing sanitizer and cleaning solutions and refilling.
- Disposing of garbage and recycling.
- Laundry.
- Assisting with cleaning with any other building located onsite.
- Answering radio calls from all departments with appropriate radio etiquette.
- Being sure to show up to your shift prepared with the proper tools and supplies (or knowing where to locate them quickly); That may include Safety Data Sheets (SDS), sanitary supplies, pens, paper pads, scissors, educational resources, flat beds carts,



double decker carts, golf carts and radio.
- Operating a golf cart safely and effectively; Training will be required prior to use.
- Asking for any additional tasks when regular job duties are completed.
- Work in compliance with all human resources, operational (SOP) and Food, Health & Safety policies and procedures

- Excellent customer service skills

- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage frequent interruptions
- Adaptability to a continuously changing work workplace

Education, Experience & Language

- Housekeeping or janitorial experience is considered an asset
- Language: advanced English (written and oral)

Availability:

- Availability to work before and after regular hours and during hours of operation (which will include evenings and weekends)
- Flexibility to accommodate scheduling changes
- Transportation plan: Heeman’s is not located on a bus route

As a seasonal farm business that’s open year-round, we see some pretty busy times and experience down seasons, too. The environment here in the greenhouse and outdoors means it can be sunny and hot or cold and snowy.

You’ll spend your days throughout the greenhouse and other areas of the property. You’ll spend majority of your day on your feet and standing for prolonged periods, maybe even helping a guest with flats of berries or other items (that can weigh up to 50lbs).
