Make an impact with our Accounting Advisory Services (AAS) team as a Senior Accountant. This diverse team of professionals are dedicated to exceeding clients' unique needs within a rapidly evolving business and financial reporting landscape. As a trusted advisor, you'll collaborate on a range of technical projects, such as new accounting standard implementation, acquisition accounting, revenue recognition, complex transaction accounting, and initial public offering (IPO) readiness.

Provide technical accounting advisory services, including understanding and addressing the implications of significant transactions, new accounting standards, and frameworks on financial reporting mandates and business objectives.
Support clients in their go-public journey, including developing go-public strategies, establishing milestones and deliverables, and preparing financial information for regulatory compliance.
Perform technical accounting research, prepare documentation for clients, and identify accounting issues within contracts and agreements
Apply knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE)
Collaborate with MNP's Corporate Finance, Tax, Valuation, Forensics, and Litigation Support teams to offer comprehensive, collaborative services.
Prepare professional correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations outlining findings, facts and highlights resulting from the client engagement
Raise awareness of MNP at community events
Lead engagement teams while coaching and mentoring junior team members
Attend internal MNP courses to further develop accounting and assurance knowledge
CPA designation or working towards it
3 to 4 years of relevant work experience in public accounting
Experience in auditing public companies in Canada or in the US
Extensive knowledge of and experience working with US GAAP, IFRS and ASPE accounting standards
Experience dealing with Canadian and US securities regulators is an asset
Solid understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles
Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Some travel may be required
