The Canadian Mental Health Association-Ottawa Branch (CMHA Ottawa) is an independent, community-based non‑profit organization supporting individuals in the Ottawa area with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorder, many of whom are experiencing chronic homelessness or are vulnerably housed. We are dedicated to promoting good mental health, developing and implementing sustainable support systems and services, and encouraging public action to strengthen community mental health services and related policies and legislation.
Type of Position: Permanent, Full Time
Start Date: ASAP
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
Pay Rate: $94,858 – $114,426 per annum

Position Description
Under the direction of the Director, Finance and IT, the Manager, Finance will play a key role in ensuring an effective finance and accounting function for CMHA Ottawa. The Manager, Finance will be responsible for overseeing components of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, compliance, and audit preparation. The Manager, Finance will oversee payroll and ensure the integrity of accounting data and the delivery of financial information in a timely and accurate basis. The role also ensures strong internal controls, financial risk management, and adherence to relevant legislation, accounting standards, and non‑profit best practices.

Qualifications

Education: Completion of a post‑secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.

Experience: A minimum of five (5)



years’ experience in financial management, preferably in the non‑profit or public sector. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience managing a team / department.

Other: Legally able to work in Canada, able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check, and proof of academic achievement.
