We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Boatyard Worker/Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will contribute to the maintenance, repair, and preparation of boats within a busy boatyard environment. Your hands-on expertise and proactive approach will ensure that vessels are serviced efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities
- Assist with the construction, repair, and maintenance of boats, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to perform tasks such as sanding, grinding, cutting, and fitting components
- Support the team in preparing boats for launch or storage by cleaning, painting, and applying protective coatings
- Conduct inspections of boats for damage or wear, documenting findings accurately for further action
- Maintain a clean and organized work workplace to promote safety and efficiency at all times
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement solutions promptly
- Follow safety protocols rigorously and use personal protective equipment (PPE) during all tasks
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in boatyard or similar workshop environments
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, etc., with a focus on safety and precision
- Experience operating power tools including drills, sanders, grinders, and saws is highly desirable
- Ability to read technical drawings or manuals is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong teamwork skills with excellent communication abilities
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions for extended periods
- Prior experience working on boats or in maritime maintenance is advantageous but not essential
