The Claims Examiner will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of claims, including complex files and matters involving litigation. This role offers exposure to a broad range of specialty products including Professional Lines, Environmental/Pollution, Construction, and Specialty Commercial Programs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and investigate first-party and third-party claims from intake through resolution
- Review and assess reports provided by adjusters, legal counsel, and subject matter experts
- Analyze policy coverages and interpret policy wording to determine appropriate recommendations and outcomes
- Communicate claim developments and provide timely updates to underwriting teams and internal stakeholders
- Handle litigation files and collaborate with legal counsel where required
- Ensure claims are managed effectively while maintaining a high level of service and professionalism
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of claims examining and/or claims adjusting experience
- Licensed claims professional
- Experience handling claims involving litigation
- Strong understanding of policy interpretation and coverage analysis
- Exposure to specialty lines is an asset
- Strong investigative, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands, solve problems, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Solid customer service orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- University or College education is preferred
- CIP or enrolled
