Role: Senior DevOps/Cloud Engineer
Location: Toronto (Onsite)
Role Summary:
Senior DevOps/Cloud Engineer responsible for designing, automating, securing, and supporting AWS cloud infrastructure across containerized and non-containerized workloads. The role requires deep hands-on expertise in AWS, Terraform/IaC, Ansible, OpenShift ROSA, and CI/CD, with a strong focus on automation, security, reliability, and scalable cloud operations.
Must Have Requirements:
- Extensive experience designing, provisioning, and managing AWS infrastructure, including VPC, subnets, IAM, EC2, ECS, EKS, RDS, S3, Route 53, and CloudFront.
- Extensive hands-on experience designing and building Terraform/IaC, including reusable modules, configurations, state management, and infrastructure automation.
- Extensive experience developing and maintaining Ansible playbooks, roles, and collections for configuration management, application deployment, and compliance.
- Robust experience administering Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA), including cluster upgrades, scaling, security, and workload management.
- Strong experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI and/or Azure DevOps.
- Experience working with both containerized and non-containerized workloads in enterprise cloud environments.
Required Skills:
- AWS architecture and infrastructure management, including multi-account environments and AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- AWS cost optimization, including Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and rightsizing.
- Terraform Cloud, remote state, workspaces, policy-as-code,
drift detection, and module standards.
- Ansible automation, dynamic AWS inventories, Ansible Vault, and CI/CD integration.
- OpenShift ROSA, RBAC, NetworkPolicies, SCCs, Operators, Helm, and Kustomize.
- GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, ArgoCD, GitOps, and pipeline-as-code.
- AWS security services including CloudTrail, Config, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and Organizations SCPs.
- Secrets management, vulnerability management, security scanning, and least-privilege access.
- AWS CloudWatch, observability, SLOs/SLIs, incident response, RCA, runbooks, and ADRs.
- Strong scripting/automation skills and experience supporting complex Linux environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design, provision, and operate secure, scalable AWS environments supporting both containerized and non-containerized workloads.
- Develop and maintain Terraform modules and Ansible automation to standardize infrastructure provisioning, configuration, deployment, and compliance.
- Administer ROSA/OpenShift platforms, including upgrades, scaling, security controls, workload deployment, and cluster hardening.
- Build and maintain CI/CD and GitOps pipelines for infrastructure and application delivery, incorporating automated testing and security controls.
- Implement cloud security, cost optimization, monitoring, and reliability practices while troubleshooting complex infrastructure and deployment issues.
- Support incident response, root-cause analysis, continuous improvement, and technical documentation for cloud platforms and services.
