The Garry Hurvitz Centre for Community Mental Health at SickKids (CCMH at SickKids) is a child and youth mental health centre integrated with The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). CCMH at SickKids is undertaking an ambitious agenda to establish a revitalized academic community mental health centre that provides the highest quality of care, combined with excellence in teaching and community-based research. CCMH at SickKids is located across two sites in Toronto and offers both in-person and virtual care to clients and their families, from prevention and early intervention through assessment, counselling and therapy and intensive services. We are also connected to the continuum of mental health services for children and youth supported by SickKids: the Brain and Mental Health Program, the SickKids TeleLink Mental Health Program, the SickKids CCMH Learning Institute and our online resources through AboutKidsHealth. We are currently seeking applicants for the full-time 12 month-contract position of a Senior Clinical Manager, Intensive Services. Reporting to the Director of Client and Participant Services, the Senior Clinical Manager of Intensive manages clinical operations and provides administrative oversite for both the Intensive Services School Age Day Treatment and In-Home Program and the Intensive youth mental health program comprised of 40 day treatment spaces, 12 live in beds (presently on pause), and interprofessional teams comprised of psychologists, psychiatrists, child and family therapists, and child and youth practitioners with access to nursing and occupational The Senior Clinical Manager of Intensive Services is the implementation lead for community partnerships related to Intensive Services and is the lead or co-lead for key strategic initiatives including but not limited to development of evidence-based practice in day treatment services and design of processes for culturally appropriate and welcoming client engagement processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the day-to-day program operations with attention to operational and organizational effectiveness/strategies, risk management and quality improvement.
Provides leadership and oversight for all aspects of staff management, including recruitment and selection, performance appraisal and management, training and professional development, succession planning, and corrective or disciplinary action, to ensure the department maintains the capacity and competencies required to meet program objectives.
Develops, recommends, monitors and implements an annual budget in accordance with policies, procedures and internal controls
Ensures services are delivered in accordance with policies and procedures and regulatory requirements
Ensures compliance with licensing requirements, accreditation standards and standards of practice
Maintains quality of care and client and staff safety
Ensures compliance with workplace safety and violence prevention program requirements, in collaboration with the Occupational Health and Safety Manager
Ensures delivery of terms of Ministry of Health service contract
Ensures delivery of terms of Toronto Board of Education Memorandum of Understanding
Maintains partnership relationships with TDSB Principal and Vice Principal
Maintains partnership relationships with Child Youth Mental Health provider partners, Lead Agency and cross sector partners as appropriate.
Maintains relationships with SickKids Hospital service partners as appropriate.
Supports the training program for students and trainees in an assigned program and ensures supervisors of students are compliant with organizations education and training policies and procedures
Manages case crises and identifies potential risks (client, agency, community) in accordance with policies and practices
Ensures adherence to legislative and professional/accreditation standards
Fulfils leadership role with respect to SickKids CCMH complaints policy, providing first level response to all staff and client complaints as required
Is an active member of agency leadership team, attending and or chairing meetings as required.
Represents CCMH at community service delivery and planning tables related to Intensive Services as appropriate

Complies with the organization’s vision, policies and procedures
Performs other tasks as assigned by management
Effort
Concentration and creativity required daily to facilitate meetings, analyze data, interpret legislation, use tools, listen, format documents, create materials, present training, etc.
Working with staff supporting an active adolescent client population resulting in occasional physical effort
Qualifications
Post-graduate Degree in healthcare administration,
social work or other healthcare or mental healthcare related field and a minimum of three years’ progressive management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Membership with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or equivalent regulatory college or professional association
Knowledge of relevant legislative regulations related to consent, privacy and children’s care and treatment in the province of Ontario (Mental Health Act, Personal Health Information Protection Act, Child Youth and Family Services Act)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively manage intensive services
Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with highly sensitive and confidential situations associated with children’s mental health services
Excellent problem-solving, crisis management and conflict-solution skills to manage crises and coordinate resources to resolve issues
Strong interpersonal, organizational, listening, relationship-building and management skills
Excellent team-building and facilitation skills
Ability to incorporate values of a culturally competent practice of diversity and inclusiveness in all aspects of work
Knowledge of MS Office Suites (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as ability to use office equipment efficiently (telephone, photocopier and fax)
First Aid/CPR, and Behavioural Management Techniques required
Ability to work flexible hours, and be on call
Ability to travel, on occasion, as required
Working Conditions
Works in an educational treatment setting characterized by both classrooms and clinical meetings space with access to workspace at both sites along with some community-based work.
Exposure to dynamic environment, frequent interruptions/distractions, deadlines, multiple demands and stress,
Exposure to emotionally dysregulated individuals
