Role Overview As a Tax Manager you will be a part of our Financial Services practice. This position offers excellent opportunities for learning and career advancement to the right candidate.
Responsibilities Lead large and medium sized engagements.
Plan and organize teams for the preparation of tax returns.
Conduct and document tax research and advise on planning opportunities, tax compliance strategies, and compliance issues.
Review work of junior staff for accuracy and completeness.
Ensure engagement team serves planning and compliance needs of clients.
Work closely with other members of the team on tax technical interpretation work for clients.
Establish relationships with clients and gain a solid understanding of their business.
Develop technical skills by staying updated on trends, new developments and tax authority decisions, and apply them to moderately complex situations.
Identify opportunities for providing tax planning and other special services.
Support the development and coaching of tax professionals and other junior tax staff members.
Participate in and contribute to the attainment of team objectives.
Required Qualifications Professional accounting designation (CPA) or law degree.
Minimum of four years Canadian Corporate tax experience.
Ability to research and write utilizing electronic tax tools.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to work with tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications Previous experience dealing with clients within the financial services sector.
Mature, proactive, committed, highly motivated and driven team player.
