Our
Heavy Duty Mechanics
plays a critical role in maintaining, repairing, and servicing the equipment that keeps Sasquatch Mountain Resort operating safely and efficiently. Working as part of a small team, you'll perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair equipment, and support mountain operations by ensuring our fleet is ready for daily use. From snowcats and loaders to excavators, snowmobiles, and fleet vehicles, no two days are the same. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in their work, and wants to make a direct impact on resort operations. You are a key team member, helping

Perform preventative maintenance on company vehicles, heavy equipment, snowcats, and machinery Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, steering, and air brake systems Perform field diagnostics and repairs throughout the resort Complete service reports, maintenance records, work orders, and warranty documentation Inspect equipment and identify maintenance concerns before failures occur Work closely with Lift Maintenance, Grooming, Facilities, and Ski Patrol to support daily operations Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop and work workplace Follow all company health and safety policies and safe work procedures Maintain a professional and respectful attitude Assist with snow removal and general operational support Perform other duties as assigned Job Requirements
Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic preffered Valid Class 5 Driver's License required (Class 4, 3 or 1 considered an asset) Current driver's abstract required Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, steering, suspension, and air brake systems Experience performing preventative maintenance and heavy equipment repairs Experience repairing undercarriage and track systems Welding certification or equivalent experience required Experience working on Prinoth or PistenBully snowcats is considered an asset Basic computer skills including Outlook, Excel, and Word are considered an asset Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labour Able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed Must be adaptable and able to handle shifting operational priorities Team player who enjoys working as part of a small, collaborative maintenance team Cross Department Support and Snow Removal is required from all positions at SMR.
