Effective for the 2026-2027 school year, a vacancy for a Carpentry Instructor exists within the Division of Career, Technical, & Customized Education at the Technical College High School - Pickering Campus.

Qualifications

Possess a valid PDE Vocational I or II certificate or be willing to enroll in a certification program.

Minimum of 4 years of experience in the field of carpentry is required.

In addition to the minimum PDE certification requirements; candidates should possess relevant industry certifications.

Current FBI fingerprints, PA State Police, and Child Abuse clearances, dated within one year.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide quality and rigorous occupational instruction to secondary career and technical students to prepare them for a successful career path related to industry.

Program development and modify curriculum to stay relevant.

Implement lesson plans and hands‑on activities that meet the needs, interests, and abilities of each student.

Support students in learning industry standards.

Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.

Evaluate students' academic and social growth, keep accurate records, and prepare progress reports.

Collaborate with school‑based staff on common course planning, integration, and alignment.





Develop and maintain a productive Occupational Advisory Committee.

Consistent and effective program recruitment.

Participate in professional development activities and maintain appropriate professional certificate(s) and licenses as required.

Remain current in educational programs related to content area while providing the best educational experience possible for students.

Perform other duties, as assigned.

Salary Range (2026-2027 School Year)

$62,155 - $89,730 - Instructional I Certification

$64,834 - $93,324 - Instructional II Certification

$69,353 - $101,911 - Master’s Degree

$72,740 - $105,924 - Master’s + 15

$74,415 - $107,845 - Master’s + 30

Schedule

Monday through Friday; 7.5 hrs per day; 10 months; 194 days
