The intake department coordinates the activities of the Centre's Intake & Support and Stabilization programs, and to provide both indirect and direct services. This includes assessment, group facilitation, case management, the coordination of activities in the department, participation in the planning, development, building external partnership and evaluation of the department. The department also does administration related to treatment-matching including the review and interpretation of assessment information, and completion of documentation related to client admissions.
Position Purpose
The Supervisor, Intake provides access to a continuum of services at the Centre including engagement, assessment, stabilization, and treatment matching. The role offers direct support to women in each of these service areas as needed, coordinates daily activities of the Intake Department.
Responsibilities
Service
Oversee the screening, intake and enrollment process for women contacting the centre
Coordinate and monitor referrals and linkages as appropriate, e.g. withdrawal management, etc
Liaise with referral agencies to facilitate admissions, outreach and maintain an effective admission process
Review and oversee the preparation of support letters and reports as necessary
Manage day-to-day operations of the program
Provide leadership, coordination and support to the intake team to enhance continuity and quality of care
Collaborate with Director to discuss job performance and establish professional goals
Ensure accurate maintenance of statistics, documentation including clinical notes on CaseWorks and other reports
Participate in ongoing staff development and personal learning as agreed to in performance reviews
Support development and implementation of programming e.g. Centralisation of intake in collaboration with the Director and in line with the Agency strategic objectives
Collaborate to develop programming in line with evidence-informed and best practices
Implement and maintain skilled practice standards
Recommend, participate in the development of and manage the implementation of policies and procedures within the department
Represent the Jean Tweed Centre in the community
Establish collaborative relationships with community partners and stakeholders as appropriate to further the Centre's mission
On-call requirements on a rotational basis
Organizational
Conduct job responsibilities with a commitment to harm reduction, trauma- informed, women-centred and anti-oppressive practices
Abide by the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and work in a manner that is safe, reporting incidents immediately to direct supervisor
Adhere to the policies and procedures of The Jean Tweed Centre
Perform other duties as assigned in order to meet the overall goals and objectives of The Jean Tweed Centre

Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Nursing (RPN) or relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience in case management and conducting comprehensive assessments
Minimum 2-4 years' experience in related field
Approach to leadership consistent with organizational values
Knowledge and understanding of women's issues, particularly as they relate to women with substance use, mental health and/or gambling concerns
Excellent decision-making, problem-solving and conflict/crisis management skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive and collaborative working relationships with individuals and teams
Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent individual and group supervisory skills
Administrative, project management and program development skills
Ability to facilitate groups and educational sessions
