Role Overview Sandvik Mining is seeking a Licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Field Service team in Newfoundland.
Schedule: 14‑14 (subject to change). Permanent and stable opportunity with a respected and growing company.
Key Responsibilities Inspect equipment for proper performance and diagnose faults and malfunctions.
Adjust, repair, and replace defective parts, components, or systems according to scope of work.
Test repaired equipment to ensure operational performance.
Commission new equipment and train customers on operations.
Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists.
Stay current with industry developments, product developments, and technical best practices.
Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Environmental, Health and Safety Responsibilities Comply with safety policies and applicable regulations.
Identify and report unsafe work habits, incidents, and near misses.
Perform risk assessments (Take Five) prior to each task.
Maintain hand tools, equipment, and orderly work area; ensure housekeeping requirements are met.
Attend EH&S; related trainings.
Wear required PPE for each task.

Qualifications Relevant trade certification (Red Seal considered an asset).
At least 3 years of related experience with mining equipment.
Experience with equipment operations considered an asset.
Common Core training considered an asset.
Proficiency in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical issues with mining equipment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Computer literacy (MS Office).
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally and across Canada as required.
Ability and willingness to work varied shifts as required.
