Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate, detailed, and competitive cost estimates for custom millwork projects. This position requires an in-depth understanding of millwork manufacturing, materials, and processes, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. The applicant must have legal work status in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

· Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope and requirements.

· Accurately quantify labor, materials, and equipment required for millwork fabrication and installation.

· Develop comprehensive and competitive cost estimates while ensuring adherence to project budgets and timelines.

· Prepare and submit detailed bid proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements and deadlines.

· Collaborate with sales, project managers, and design teams to clarify project scope and address potential discrepancies.

· Track and analyze bid results to improve accuracy and competitiveness.

· Work with purchasing to source and obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services.

· Evaluate vendor quotes to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specifications.

· Identify project risks and opportunities, offering value-engineering solutions to optimize cost and efficiency.

· Communicate potential challenges to stakeholders and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.

· Work closely with internal team, clients, architects, general contractors,



and other stakeholders to align expectations.

· Provide technical guidance and support to junior estimators and other team members.

· Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project kickoffs as necessary.

· Continuously refine and offer to improve estimating processes, tools, and templates to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

· Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and best practices related to construction and architectural millwork.

Experience:

· Minimum of 5+ years of local experience in the millworking or related construction industry.

· Proven track record of estimating and winning high-value millwork projects.

Technical Skills:

· Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., PlanGrid, ProCore, AutoCAD or similar).

· Strong understanding of millwork materials, construction methods, and shop fabrication processes.

· Advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and shop drawings.

Soft Skills:

· Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

· Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple deadlines effectively.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education:

· Referenceable work experience is a priority, however, post-secondary education in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field would be beneficial.

· Relevant certifications or training in estimating or millwork production are an asset.

Pay: $40.00-$55.00 per hour
