Position Summary
We are seeking a full time Neuropsychiatrist or General Psychiatrist with relevant training and experience to join the multidisciplinary team and oversee the 12-bed Neuropsychiatry Unit at Hillside Centre. The responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

Provide comprehensive neuropsychiatric assessments for adults with significant complexity

Lead the multidisciplinary team (nurses, SW, OT, PT, Psychology, Neuropsychology) and participate in treatment planning conferences.

Participate in BC Neuropsychiatry rounds, held virtually, on a weekly basis

Act as a resource for referring psychiatrists/teams and support the transfer of care to partners on discharge

Synthesize and apply a customized biopsychosocial framework, and translate into care recommendations and plans

Advocate for patients supporting re-integration to their home communities

Participate in general psychiatry call at RIH

Qualifications

You'll hold, or be eligible for, licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).

If you’re a US-trained physician with ABMS certification in psychiatry, you may be eligible to practice under the USA certified class.

You’ll be UCNS Board Certified or Board Eligible in Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry, or have relevant training and experience.

To practice medicine here, you’ll have coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
