Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, the Senior Geotechnical Engineer is responsible for all operational geotechnical tasks at the mine site.

Key Responsibilities Oversee the geotechnical team and associated responsibilities within an open pit mining workplace.

Develop and manage a geotechnical planning schedule in accordance with the short and mid-range mine plans.

Supervise geotechnical personnel responsible for the management of underground voids, exclusion zones, rock mechanics, wall stability, dump stability, and monitoring.

Oversee practices for use of slope stability radar as a geotechnical monitoring tool for the open pit operation.

Ensure adequate inventory of geotechnical instrumentation.

Manage, budget, and coordinate work with contractors and geotechnical consultants.

Develop procedures to support the mine engineering and mine operations teams in any geotechnical-related requests.

Maintain working databases related to geotechnical activities, including voids, probe holes, geotechnical inspections, and rockfalls.

Develop and ensure compliance with the geotechnical surveillance program.





Promote safe working practices and regularly complete planned job observations, job hazard analysis, risk assessments and non-routine hazardous task forms.

Maintain and update the site’s ground control management plan.

Required Experience & Skill Set 8+ years of experience in the mining industry.

Experience with mining and geotechnical software, including Deswik and the Rocscience suite, is preferred.
