United Way Greater Toronto is currently seeking a Senior Manager, Salesforce Architecture & Platform Strategy to join our team.
How you will make a difference:
Reporting to the Director, Information Systems and Technology Solutions (ISTS) the Senior Manager, Salesforce Architecture & Platform Strategy will be responsible to provide technical leadership across Salesforce platforms including Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP), Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud, and future Salesforce solutions such as Grant Making, Experience Cloud, Outcomes Management and more. Working closely with Salesforce Product Owners, Enterprise Architecture, business leaders and implementation partners, the role ensures that Salesforce solutions are scalable, secure, integrated and aligned with UWGT's digital transformation strategy.
Under the direction of the Director, Information Systems & Technology Solutions (ISTS), the Senior Manager, Salesforce Solutions & Platform Architecture is responsible for the strategic design, architecture, governance, implementation and continuous evolution of United Way Greater Toronto's Salesforce ecosystem. In consultation with Salesforce Product Owners, Enterprise Architecture, Security Teams and implementation partners, the role ensures Salesforce solutions are scalable, secure and integrated.
Salesforce Architecture & Platform Strategy
- Own the overall Salesforce platform architecture and technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with UWGT's enterprise technology strategy.
- Design scalable end-to-end Salesforce solutions spanning fundraising, donor management, grants management, service delivery, constituent engagement and outcomes measurement.
- Define integration paths between Salesforce and other business systems.
- Evaluate new Salesforce capabilities and recommend adoption strategies that improve business value and reduce technical debt.
Salesforce Data Architecture & Analytics Enablement
- Define enterprise data models across donors, constituents, agencies, grants, volunteers, campaigns and outcomes.
- Ensure data quality, governance and master data management practices are maintained across the Salesforce ecosystem.
- Partner with analytics teams to support reporting, AI and data-driven decision-making.
Salesforce AI and Automation
- Assess AI use cases, data readiness, governance requirements and responsible AI controls.
- Evaluate AI, automation and analytics capabilities across the Salesforce ecosystem.
- Recommend platform enhancements that improve constituent experience, operational efficiency and business decision-making.
Product Delivery & Release Management
- Work closely with Salesforce Product Owners to prioritize platform enhancements.
- Oversee Agile delivery across multiple Salesforce products.
- Guide solution configuration, development and custom development activities.
- Ensure solution quality through architecture reviews, code reviews and testing oversight.
- Support deployment planning and release governance.
Salesforce Security & Platform Risk Management
- Ensure Salesforce solutions comply with organizational cybersecurity, privacy and data protection standards.
- Partner with enterprise security teams on identity management, access controls, security reviews and platform risk assessments.
- Monitor platform health, security considerations and operational risks.
- Maintain platform documentation including architecture diagrams, standards and operational procedures.
Partner & Vendor Management
- Lead technical engagement with Salesforce implementation partners.
- Review partner solution designs and challenge recommendations where appropriate.
- Monitor partner performance against project objectives and service levels.
- Participate in vendor selection and solution evaluation activities.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building
- Lead and mentor Salesforce Administrators, Developers and Business Support Analysts.
- Establish technical standards and development practices.
- Build internal Salesforce capability through coaching and knowledge transfer.
- Foster collaboration between business teams and technical teams.
What you bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work-related experience
- Preferred Salesforce Certifications:
- Salesforce Certified Administrator
- Salesforce Advanced Administrator
- Salesforce Platform App Builder
- 8–10 years designing, implementing and supporting enterprise Salesforce solutions.
- Minimum 5 years leading Salesforce technical teams or solution architecture.
- Demonstrated experience designing multi-cloud Salesforce ecosystems.
- Experience implementing Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud or leading migration from NPSP to NPC.
- Experience with Salesforce Grantmaking and Outcomes Management solutions is highly desirable.
- Experience with enterprise integration architecture and APIs.
- Experience working with Agile product delivery.
- Experience managing external implementation partners.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to executive audiences.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Strong vendor management experience.
- Ability to balance innovation with operational stability.
- Excellent planning, prioritization and organizational skills.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Experience managing platforms in the not-for-profit sector is preferred.
- Willingness to actively contribute to the organizational Reconciliation and Equity Framework through participation in learning opportunities and implementing anti-oppressive, and anti-racist learnings into action internally and externally
