Responsibilities
Meeting with students one‑on‑one to assess and identify areas in need of improvement in relation to academic success.
Develop and deliver individualized learning plans for students with a broad range of disabilities based on each student’s unique needs and learning style.
Work in collaboration with tutors, instructors, and other staff as appropriate, providing training and support for students with specific learning differences.
Support and enhance each student’s personal and academic success.
Serve as a resource to the College on matters related to learning strategies for students with learning differences.
Assist with special events and other services offered through the department.
Assist with additional tasks and special projects as assigned to support the operation of the department.
Qualifications
University degree in Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Adult Education, or a related qualification.
Minimum two years in a secondary or post‑secondary educational setting, working directly with students in the planning and provision of educational supports to students with special needs.
Proven experience providing learning strategies to students within a diverse population.
Proven ability to provide solution‑focused interventions.

Ability to demonstrate flexibility within the decision‑making process.
Ability to remain objective in decision‑making when presented with emotionally charged situations or at times limited information.
