Develop Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics solutions using Microsoft Power BI to support a variety of business needs. Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into analytical solutions, following industry best practices and established technology frameworks. Lead analysis and development phases while enabling data‑driven decision‑making through actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
Lead development and delivery of analytics solutions to support evidence‑based decision‑making
Collaborate with stakeholders to assess current analytics capabilities and define future state requirements
Manage client expectations and support decision‑making processes
Execute analytics initiatives end‑to‑end, including reporting and dataset delivery
Develop statistical models and machine learning algorithms to analyze business scenarios
Participate in documentation, development, testing, and user training
Work with data architects, ETL developers, and stakeholders to solve complex business problems
Support ETL and SSIS development when required
Design data collection, transformation, and processing methods
Build accurate, understandable, and unbiased data models
Communicate complex data insights using clear visualizations and summaries
Provide expert guidance to stakeholders on transforming analytics into actionable insights
Qualifications
Technical Skills
Strong experience with data analysis, modeling, and statistical techniques
Advanced SQL for querying and managing large datasets
Proficiency with DAX and Power Query (M)
Experience with ETL processes and tools such as SSIS
Experience with Microsoft data stack (Azure Data Factory, SSAS, SSRS, SQL Server)
Programming/scripting experience (Python, R, or similar)
Experience with machine learning and advanced analytics methods
Knowledge of data governance, including Row‑Level Security (RLS)
BI & Analytics Experience
Experience developing dashboards and visualizations (Power BI Service and/or On‑Prem)
Strong skills in data cleansing, transformation, and visualization
Experience working with large‑scale data warehouses and datasets
Knowledge of dimensional modeling and cube development
Understanding of emerging BI trends and tools
Soft Skills
Strong communication skills (technical and non‑technical audiences)
Excellent problem‑solving and analytical thinking
Solid relationship management and consulting skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments
Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
Additional Requirements
Experience in public sector environments is considered an asset
Familiarity with government IT standards and compliance practices is an advantage
Knowledge Transfer
Maintain proper documentation for all deliverables and ensure they are stored in designated repositories
Provide knowledge transfer sessions and walkthroughs prior to project completion
Ensure all project artifacts (design, testing, training materials) are documented and accessible
Conduct structured knowledge transfer sessions with internal teams
