Responsible for leading tech team on site and the installation and testing of electronic communications equipment, including but not limited to, cable, fiber optics and electronic devices. The Senior Installation Technician is responsible for installing hardware in the most efficient and effective manner. All installations must meet the highest quality standards set forth by Branch Audiovisual, while assuring a professional and safe working environment.
Responsibilities
Job site leadership and oversight of the quality of work of AV Technicians on site
Communicate and coordinate with other trades on site
Responsible for reading and interpreting functional wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
Installation of AV equipment including pulling cable, installing connectors, mounting displays, projectors, projection screens, cameras, etc as required
Able to terminate field device cables such as RJ45, BNC, SpeakOn, DB9, XLR, etc
Responsible for the operation of cable testing equipment
Tests and documents readings for client’s systems
Meet installation deadlines as set by the Project Manager and communicate job site status
Responsible for accurate tracking on time sheets & inventory
Full compliance with company’s and customer’s safety program
Safe operation of power tools
Assists with preventive maintenance of customer equipment
Other duties as required or assigned by company management/supervisor
Accountability/Reporting
The Senior Installation Technician will report to the Project Manager. Secondary accountability will be to the other management team members, employees, and customers of the company.
Qualifications
The Senior Installation Technician shall possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred. Must be proficient in the installation of AV equipment such as projectors, displays, videowalls, microphones, speaker and control systems. Minimum of 2-4 years of audiovisual installation experience required. Experience leading a team preferred. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with team members and customers. AVIXA CTS certification is an asset.
Valid drivers license and personal vehicle required.
Must have or be able to qualify for Government Security clearance.
Travel
Travel required around GTA for on‑site AV system installations. Some out‑of‑town travel will be required for on‑site AV system installations.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, flexible to work after hours and weekends when required.
