Role Description The Senior Power Systems Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Ottawa, ON. This role is responsible for performing advanced power system studies related to renewable integration, including stability, reliability, and power quality analysis. Day-to-day tasks include developing and validating detailed models of renewable generation assets, conducting grid impact assessments, and preparing technical reports and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.

The engineer will collaborate with equipment manufacturers, utilities,



and project developers to support grid code compliance, system planning, and optimization efforts. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers, contributing to methodology and tool development, and staying current with industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies. Qualifications

Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on Power Systems and Electric Power.

Experience conducting Power System Studies, including stability, load flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination.

Knowledge of Power Generation technologies, particularly renewable energy systems such as solar, wind, and battery storage.

Proficiency with industry-standard power system software (e.g., PSSE, PSCAD, ASPEN, MATLAB, ETAP or similar tools).

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.

Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical issues, document findings clearly, and communicate results to technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience working with utilities, OEMs, or grid operators on integration and compliance studies is highly beneficial.

Capability to work collaboratively in office in Ottawa, ON, and to mentor and guide junior engineering staff.
