On behalf of our Client, a private real estate development firm, we are seeking a Manager, Site Servicing to support the Construction & Development functions, working directly with the VP. The focus will be on construction of site servicing and infrastructure for new subdivisions within the City of Toronto. The Manager will be a key component working with construction, engineering, infrastructure and development to advance site‑wide servicing and infrastructure.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated team player, with a passion for real estate development and placemaking, with the ability to work in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment. They will be able to work collaboratively with multiple internal/external teams. The ideal candidate will have experience advancing municipal approvals and site infrastructure for subdivision level site servicing, utilities and stormwater systems.
Base salary for this position is based on level of industry experience and exposure, plus a bonus, competitive benefits, hybrid working style, and vacation. Our client is an advocate for equity and diversity and recognizes the importance of leadership engagement within its framework.
Responsibilities Be accountable for the overall Infrastructure program including leading and/or providing oversight of design and approvals and acting as technical support through to construction and commissioning.
Develop and manage the scope, schedule, budget, and risk register for the program.
Oversee general contractors and consultant teams to ensure site servicing condition and execution are implemented in a timely manner.
Integrate the delivery of municipal infrastructure with other corporate initiatives.
Prepare reports on the infrastructure program. Advise the Senior Leadership team on infrastructure risks and/or delivery issues in a timely manner.
Lead interface with the City of Toronto, Metrolinx, Toronto Hydro, alternative energy providers and other utilities and approval bodies as necessary.
Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with development partners and vendors to deliver on the infrastructure program.
Working closely with the Development team, ensure all conditions and requirements are met to achieve release for construction, registration and assumption of municipal infrastructure.
Lead the development of specific business cases for decision making, as requested.
Establish and maintain excellent relationships with relevant authorities,
community and industry stakeholders.
Establish and own an accountability framework for delivery milestones, critical paths, and key performance indicators.
Provide mentorship to junior team members to help provide education, career advancement opportunities, as well as back‑up and support.
Qualifications Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with large‑scale municipal infrastructure projects.
Post‑secondary degree in engineering or construction preferred.
In‑depth knowledge and experience of municipal infrastructure and site servicing technical concepts, design practices and approval processes.
Relationships with officials from the City of Toronto, Metrolinx, utilities and related governmental authorities.
Proficiency in collaboration and delegation of duties.
Excellent judgement and autonomy.
Strong organizational, project management and problem‑solving skills with impeccable multi‑tasking abilities.
Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Strong oral and written communications and presentation skills.
Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Experience and familiarity with computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.
