Overview We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer with experience in boiler maintenance to join our team! This position will entail scope and development of our clients’ power boilers planned outages, and a couple CAPEX projects. This is a temporary secondment role that is expected to last from January to August 2026. The successful candidate must be willing to work in both Edmonton (in office design work) and Hinton (onsite to direct work during execution).
What are we looking for? 10+ years’ experience in design for brownfield, sustaining capital process plant projects
Registered with APEGA
Experience in boiler maintenance is an asset
CAPEX and maintenance of recovery and power boilers
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to mechanical and piping teams.
Prepare and modify mechanical design basis and provide guidelines for outages.
The candidate will be expected to propose and implement standard and non-standard solutions to uniquely meet our client’s needs.
Determine and recommend quality assurance inspection requirements for mechanical equipment.
Assist with inter-discipline coordination of mechanical equipment review.




Respond to various mechanical engineering inquiries from plant site personnel.
Review selection of type, model and manufacturer of mechanical equipment to minimize project cost and schedule while maximizing facility reliability and maintainability.
All candidates must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
Act as project lead and primary point of contact for clients
What do we value Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation by APEGA (required)
Wide knowledge in various fields of mechanical engineering, including boiler maintenance
Experience in utilities facilities projects.
A self-starter with solid technical, interpersonal, teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience in ASME B31.1 Piping.
Must be capable of conducting field visits at client’s facilities as required.
