If innovation drives you, and you want a career that makes a difference to the world, helping humanity overcome the challenges in our oceans – safely, efficiently, and sustainably –then come join us at Kraken Robotics.Kraken Roboticsis currently recruiting for anIntermediate Mechanical Engineerto join ourMount Pearl, NL office.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDesignmechanical components and systemsin3DCAD software, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, industry standards, and project requirements.This position focuses on theSub-Bottom Imager and Acoustic Corersonar productline,theirlaunch and recovery systems, and ROV and vessel interface equipment.Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and simulation studies(stress, vibration, shock, thermal)tooptimizedesigns forsafety,performance, reliability, and manufacturability.Create andmaintainclear,accurateengineering documentation (drawings, manuals, procedures).Develop and execute test plans tovalidateperformance and requirements.Contribute across the full product lifecycle—from concept and design reviews to build, test,



and deployment.Manage engineering data in PDM systems with robust version control and traceability.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, systems,production,configurationmanagementand project management.Supportsonar service campaigns through the solicitation of technical requirements from client/vessel/ROV and design + specification of the Engineering interfaceOccasionally perform physical work including assembly, disassembly, maintenance, and testing of components.Review technical deliverables and mentor junior team members.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEMechanicalEngineering degree or equivalent engineering discipline with4+years' experience.Registered or eligible for registration with PEGNL.Proficiencyin CAD software for 3D modelling and mechanical simulation.Understanding of engineering standards and design review processes.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical information clearly.REFERRED SKILLSExperience with the following would be considered an asset:Experience withSolidworks(CAD, Simulation and PDM).Experience with ERP systems.Experience withmarine survey systems (ROVs, AUVs, sonar systems)or offshore operationsconsidered an asset.Share this Job:#J-18808-Ljbffr
