Senior Software Engineer – AI Applications & Connected Products

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer who enjoys building outstanding products and solving complex technical problems. This is a hands-on engineering position for someone who enjoys understanding complex systems, writing high-quality code, troubleshooting difficult problems, and continuously improving software. You'll become the technical owner of our existing software platform, working closely with the Founder to understand how the system works today and helping evolve it as our company grows.

Take Ownership of Our Software Platform

Learn and become the technical expert on the existing ELLUSTRÖS software platform.

Maintain, improve, and expand the platform as current products and customers are added.

Ensure the software remains reliable, scalable, maintainable, and commercially ready (including the Code, UI & UX)

Develop Great Software

Design, develop, and maintain Android & iOS applications using Java and B4X (B4A).





Build new functionality while maintaining existing features.

Troubleshoot complex software issues independently.

Write clean, well-documented, maintainable code.

Improve performance, reliability, and user experience.

Build Intelligent Product Features

Develop and enhance software that includes:

AI-driven ergonomic assessments.

Product recommendation engines.

JSON-based manufacturer product libraries.

Personalized recommendation logic.

REST API integrations.

Database management.

Bluetooth communications.

Mobile application development.

Connected Hardware

Work closely with our hardware platform by developing software that communicates with connected devices including embedded controllers. You'll help bridge software and hardware to create seamless user experiences across office furniture, automotive seating, and future smart products.

Product

Development

Work directly with the Founder to turn ideas into working products.

Evaluate technical approaches, prototype new concepts, improve existing functionality, and help commercialize innovative technology.

You'll be expected to think critically, ask questions, and recommend practical technical solutions while respecting the overall product vision. What We're Looking For

Required

Strong skilled experience developing software applications.

Excellent Java programming skills.

Experience building Android & iOS applications.

Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, SQL, and Git/GitHub.

Experience with B4X / B4A.

Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).





Excellent debugging and troubleshooting abilities.

Experience working across multiple components of a software platform.

Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical work.

Strong communication skills.

Genuine curiosity and a desire to continuously learn.

Nice to Have

AI integration or machine learning applications.

Raspberry Pi or embedded systems.
