You'll become part of a collaborative finance team where tax isn't viewed as a back-office function - it's a strategic partner to the business. As our client continues expanding throughout North America, the organization is strengthening its finance team by adding an experienced tax professional who can confidently navigate both Canadian and U.S. tax matters.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership, provide meaningful tax guidance, support strategic business initiatives, and help ensure the company remains well-positioned for continued growth. S. tax matters. S. corporate tax returns Supporting partnership and individual tax filings where required Preparing MACRS depreciation calculations and related tax schedules Managing sales tax, excise tax,
rail car tax and property tax filings across multiple jurisdictions Assisting with ASC 740 tax provisions and financial reporting S. federal, state and provincial tax installment payments Supporting tax audits and government inquiries Monitoring changes in tax legislation and evaluating their impact on the business Researching complex tax issues and providing practical recommendations Identifying opportunities for tax savings, efficiencies and process improvements Collaborating closely with Accounting, Finance, the Controller, CFO and executive leadership on strategic tax matters Within your first year, you’ll have established yourself as one of the organization’s trusted tax advisors.
S. tax matters, improve existing processes, strengthen compliance, and provide insights that help leadership make informed business decisions. Most importantly, you’ll play a key role in supporting a growing North American business during an exciting stage of its evolution. Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline Approximately 5-7+ years of tax experience in public practice, industry, or a combination of both Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate taxation S.
tax compliance Experience preparing corporate tax returns and managing multi-jurisdiction tax filings Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 skills Experience with tax and accounting software Dynamics AX or Dynamics 365 experience is considered an asset Ability to travel to the United States as required You take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work while continually looking for opportunities to improve processes You're equally comfortable working independently or collaborating with finance leadership on challenging tax matters Most importantly, you're someone who enjoys building long-term relationships and becoming a trusted advisor within the business You're only interested in straightforward personal tax work You prefer repetitive compliance work over solving complex tax challenges Our client is entering an exciting new chapter of growth, creating opportunities for experienced professionals to make a meaningful impact while helping shape the future of the organization.
