As a Senior Transportation Engineer, you will lead technical efforts on design projects in Alberta and British Columbia, ensuring quality and innovation across highway, freeway, and transit initiatives.

Key Responsibilities - Serve in the lead technical role on design projects with a focus on work in Alberta and British Columbia - Perform quality assurance checks on major highway and freeway transportation projects.

- Serve as a technical resource with recognized authority in the area of highways and roadways design that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity - Assume some project management duties and client development activities as needed - Provide support to other professionals and technicians as needed - Coordinate designs with the rest of the multidisciplinary team including structural, traffic, pavement, environmental, stormwater management, electrical, etc.
- Support the development of budgets, schedules, and work plans for various transit, highways, and roadways clients in Western Canada - Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications - Experience with MicroStation,



OpenRoads Developer, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Office applications Required Qualifications - A minimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design - Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng) - Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teams - Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans - Must have coordinated survey, grading, drainage and utilities and layout of various site items is a plus - An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must EEO Commitment At HDR, we are committed to the principles of employment equity.
