Senior UX Designer (Employee Experience & Data Insights Portal)
Location: Toronto (few days onsite)
Employment Type: Contract (full-time, 40 days contract)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior UX Designer to lead the design of a next-generation employee portal focused on providing seamless access to organizational data and actionable insights. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong user-centered design expertise, capable of transforming complex information into intuitive and engaging digital experiences.
As a key member of the project team, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders, business teams, and developers to define and deliver a modern, accessible, and impactful user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of the future employee portal experience, focused on data access and data-driven insights.
- Participate in solution design workshops and collaborate with cross-functional teams on product strategy and requirements.
- Create user flows, customer journeys, and information architecture to support optimal user experiences.
- Develop high-fidelity wireframes, UI designs, and design system/style guide components.
- Build interactive prototypes to validate concepts and user interactions.
- Plan and conduct user research, usability testing, and stakeholder feedback sessions.
- Facilitate design workshops and present design strategies, rationale,
and recommendations to client stakeholders.
- Partner with development teams to ensure successful design implementation and smooth design handoff.
- Advocate for user-centered design principles and accessibility best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a UX/UI Designer, Product Designer, or similar role designing enterprise digital products.
- Solid portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX design, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design.
- Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and translating findings into design improvements.
- Expertise with industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar platforms.
- Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills, including leading design discussions with senior audiences.
- Experience collaborating within Agile product and development teams.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing employee experience platforms, intranets, portals, dashboards, or analytics solutions.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
- Familiarity with design systems and component-based development approaches.
- Experience designing data visualization and insight-driven user experiences.
