Section LEC0101 - Wednesday 11:00am to 1:00pm (times subject to change)
Dates of appointment: September 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026 (actual work may extend into January 2027)
Delivery: The mode of instruction for this course will be in person.
Description of Course: Application of economics to the field of environmental and natural resource economics. This course uses economic theory and empirical evidence to address significant environmental issues, such as management of renewable and non-renewable resources, and different forms of environmental regulation and pollution control. The course will focus on market based instruments, such as tradeable pollution rights, and climate change problems. [24L, 12T]
Estimated Enrolment: 60
Estimated Teaching Assistant Support: 95 hours

Position Description: All normal duties related to the design, administration and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; supervision of teaching assistants; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and examinations, including make-up tests; calculation and submission of grades to university officials; holding regular student office hours and maintaining reasonable availability for student contact.
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching and mastery of subject area
- Previous experience in teaching this, or related course, at university level
- Demonstrated Excellence in delivering online courses in a remote setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Economics
- Professional experience in Finance industry
Salary: $9,997.48 at Sessional Lecturer I 0.5 FCE rate (inclusive of vacation pay) $10,699.22 at Sessional Lecturer II 0.5 FCE rate (inclusive of vacation pay)
Salary rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail, in the event in a discrepancy of rates with this posting.
Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or III in accordance with Article 14:12
