Shift Lead – Youth Employment & Event Concession

Location: SaskTel Centre – Saskatoon, SK

Position: Part-Time / Event-Based

Schedule: Evenings and weekends based on SaskTel Centre events

About the Position

We are looking for a kind, patient, dependable, and flexible Shift Lead to help oversee our concession operations at SaskTel Centre.

This is a unique position that combines event/concession work, team leadership, and youth support. Our team includes youth workers with varying abilities, and we are looking for someone who can create a positive, encouraging workplace while keeping shifts organized and running smoothly.

The Shift Lead will take the lead during scheduled events, supervise youth workers, assist with shave ice service during busy periods, and provide additional support to two youth workers with disabilities.

More hours can be made available to the right candidate if they are interested in working at our other locations as well.

Responsibilities

- Lead and oversee shifts at SaskTel Centre
- Help youth workers get set up and ready for each event
- Assign tasks and provide clear, patient instructions throughout the shift
- Ensure youth workers are serving customers properly and following procedures
- Encourage youth workers and help them build confidence and workplace skills
- Supervise and provide additional support to two youth workers with disabilities
- Transport these two youth workers from Warman to and from SaskTel Centre for scheduled shifts
- Assist with shave ice preparation and customer service during rush periods
- Step in wherever needed to keep the concession running smoothly
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming work area
- Communicate any concerns or issues with management
- Help ensure youth workers have a safe and positive experience at work

Requirements
- Valid driver's licence
- Reliable personal vehicle
- Comfortable transporting two youth workers to and from SaskTel Centre
- Availability for SaskTel Centre events, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to work effectively with youth of varying abilities
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Must be able to provide a clean criminal record check and drivers abstract
- Previous experience supervising, mentoring, coaching, working with youth, or supporting individuals with disabilities is an asset, but not required for the right person
