Shipping and Material Handler

OVERVIEW:

As the Shipper/Materials Handler, you will support the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse and production areas. You will stage pallets, organize inventory, pick orders, prepare materials for production, and help ensure the warehouse is ready for incoming shifts and scheduled shipments.

Job Type: Full-Time, Afternoon/Midnight

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Stage pallets, ingredients, packaging, and other materials required for production
- Organize the warehouse and production staging areas before the midnight shift begins
- Ensure aisles, exits, loading areas, and production access points remain clear
- Pick orders accurately according to pick lists and shipping instructions
- Prepare and organize outgoing orders according to shipping schedules
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments when required
- Verify and complete paperwork for incoming and outgoing materials
- Rotate inventory using the FIFO method
- Assist with inventory counts, stock movement, and inventory accuracy
- Operate standing reach trucks, counterbalance forklifts, motorized pallet jacks, and manual pallet jacks safely
- Complete required pre-operation and post-operation equipment inspections
- Operate the floor scrubber and clean warehouse floors during designated periods
- Identify and report damaged products, inventory discrepancies, equipment concerns, space limitations, and safety hazards
- Coordinate with Production and Supply Chain to ensure materials are available when needed
- Maintain a clean, organized,



and food-safe warehouse workplace
- Complete all required ISO, quality, health and safety, and food safety training
- Follow all company procedures relating to material handling, equipment operation, sanitation, and workplace safety
- Complete other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

- Authorized to work in Canada
- Previous shipping, receiving, warehousing, or material-handling experience; food manufacturing experience is preferred
- Valid certification to operate standing reach trucks and counterbalance forklifts
- Experience staging pallets, picking orders, and organizing warehouse inventory
- Knowledge of FIFO practices and safe food-product handling
- Able to work independently while following established procedures
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Comfortable using manual pallet jacks for a significant portion of the shift
- Experience operating a floor scrubber is preferred; training may be provided
- Able to identify and communicate inventory, space, equipment, and safety concerns
- Dependable and available to work the full Sunday-to-Thursday schedule

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Able to lift up to 25 kg
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Able to operate manual and motorized material-handling equipment
- Able to use proper bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling techniques
- Able to work in warehouse and production environments with varying temperatures and noise levels

Pay: $20.00-$23.50 per hour
