JOB LOCATION: 165 Line 4 South, Oro-Medonte - Just 10 minutes north of Barrie (Public Transportation is not available)

JOB PURPOSE:

The Shipping & Logistics Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate, efficient, and timely movement of materials, products, and shipments throughout the organization. This role serves as a critical link between production, inventory, customers, suppliers, and transportation providers by coordinating shipping, receiving, inventory transactions, and logistics activities. Success in this position requires exceptional speed, accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.

The Shipping & Logistics Specialist must be capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously, quickly learning recent processes, retaining information, and executing tasks with a high degree of accuracy while maintaining a fast pace. The ability to identify issues proactively, make sound decisions, and consistently meet shipping deadlines is essential. This position contributes directly to customer satisfaction, inventory accuracy, on-time delivery performance, and operational efficiency.

Duties

- Key Accountabilities
- Ensure the accurate, timely, and efficient movement of materials, products, and shipments throughout the organization.
- Execute shipping, receiving, inventory, warehousing, and logistics activities with a high degree of urgency and attention to detail.
- Manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Complete transactions, documentation, and inventory movements accurately the first time, minimizing errors, delays, and rework.
- Quickly learn, retain, and apply information related to products, systems, customer requirements, and shipping processes.
- Support customer satisfaction, on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency through effective execution of daily responsibilities.
- Identify and resolve issues proactively to prevent disruptions to production, inventory control, shipping schedules, and customer requirements.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and productive work environment while promoting continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Work safely at all times and actively contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for all Team Members.
- Adhere to all MPC policies, procedures, work instructions, quality requirements, standards, and applicable legislative requirements at all times.
- Shipping & Order Fulfillment
- Prepare, package, label, and ship products accurately and efficiently to meet customer requirements and shipping deadlines.
- Process domestic and international shipments using UPS WorldShip, FedEx, DHL, Purolator, and other approved carriers.




- Verify shipment contents against pick sheets, packing slips, invoices, and related documentation to ensure shipment accuracy.
- Generate and maintain required shipping documentation including Bills of Lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, customs documentation, certificates, and other shipping records.
- Ensure Advance Shipping Notices (ASNs), tracking information, and customer shipment notifications are completed and communicated promptly.
- Coordinate and schedule shipment pickups with carriers, couriers, customers, and transportation providers.
- Electronically maintain shipment records, including signed delivery documents, Proofs of Delivery (PODs), and tracking information.
- Receiving & Inventory Control
- Receive incoming materials, verify quantities and documentation, and complete receiving transactions accurately and promptly within Plex.
- Unload, inspect, and process incoming freight while ensuring products are handled safely and efficiently.
- Store received materials in designated locations and complete all inventory transactions accurately and in real time.
- Conduct item counts, cycle counts, and inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Identify and communicate system, inventory, or transaction issues that may impact operations, inventory accuracy, or customer service.
- Identify damaged, non-conforming, or incorrectly documented material and ensure issues are escalated appropriately.
- Warehouse Operations & Material Movement
- Operate forklifts, scanners, and material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Pick, sort, stage, palletize, and move products using established inventory and FIFO requirements.
- Load and unload trucks safely while maximizing efficiency and minimizing delays.
- Transfer materials between facilities using company vehicles and complete all associated system transactions accurately and promptly.
- Maintain organized warehouse locations that support effective inventory management and order fulfillment.
- Ensure customer products and materials are properly identified, stored, and organized to facilitate efficient picking and shipping activities.
- Logistics Coordination & Service Support
- Communicate effectively with carriers, suppliers, customers, and internal Team Members regarding shipping, receiving, inventory, and logistics activities.
- Notify Team Members of parcel deliveries in a timely manner.
- Support production, customer service, and operations teams by ensuring material flow is maintained and priority requirements are addressed promptly.
- Anticipate potential shipping, receiving, or inventory issues and take appropriate action to prevent disruptions.
- Operational Excellence
- Consistently perform work with a high level of urgency, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Quickly learn, retain, and apply information related to products, systems, customer requirements, and shipping processes.
- Complete transactions accurately the first time, minimizing errors, delays, and rework.




- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, eliminate waste, and support operational effectiveness.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and skilled work environment.
- Safety & Compliance
- Conduct daily forklift inspections and report deficiencies immediately.
- Follow all applicable health and safety rules, procedures, work instructions, and company policies.
- Ensure all shipping, receiving, storage, and material handling activities comply with company and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

- Experience
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, logistics, or material handling.
- Minimum one (1) year experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environment.
- Experience using shipping software, inventory systems, scanners, and warehouse technology is considered an asset.
- Certifications & Licences
- Valid driver's licence.

- Strong sense of urgency and commitment to completing work efficiently without compromising quality.
- Ability to multitask and effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

- Basic computer skills and experience using RF scanners and inventory management systems.

- Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift, move, carry, and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform material handling activities throughout the workday.
