We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Shop Foreman to lead our maintenance team and oversee daily shop operations.

Position Summary The Shop Foreman is responsible for supervising mechanics, coordinating repairs and preventative maintenance, and ensuring all equipment is maintained safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. This role is a hands-on leadership position that bridges management and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and mentor shop mechanics and apprentices
- Schedule and assign daily repair and maintenance work
- Ensure preventative maintenance programs are followed
- Diagnose complex mechanical issues and assist with repairs as needed
- Monitor shop productivity, quality of work, and turnaround times
- Monitor, maintain and order parts, supplies, equipment and shop inventory while considering cost, usage and operational needs
- Communicate with management regarding equipment condition, major repairs and maintenance requirements
- Ensure compliance with company policies,



safety standards, and DOT/transport regulations
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation
- Inspect completed repairs to ensure work is performed safely and properly
- Coordinate with operations, dispatch, and management to prioritize equipment needs
- Manage shop and yard cleanliness, tools, and inventory
- Participate in hiring, training, and performance management of shop staff

Qualifications

- Red Seal Mechanic
- Minimum [5+] years of experience in heavy-duty truck maintenance
- Previous supervisory or foreman experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, braking systems, electrical systems, and air systems
- Experience with fleet maintenance software is an asset
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
- Valid driver's license
