Production Manager
Swift Sure Milling & Mouldings
Wage: $38–$45/hour, depending on experience
Full-Time Position
Swift Sure Milling & Mouldings is looking for an experienced, hands-on Production Manager to take ownership of all aspects of our production department.
This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring that production runs efficiently, quality standards are maintained, schedules are met, and issues on the shop floor are addressed with an appropriate level of urgency.
Our Production Equipment & Departments
Our facility operates a wide range of woodworking, manufacturing, and finishing equipment, including:
- Two moulders
- Two CNC machines
- Clamp carrier
- Multi-rip saw
- Planer
- Resaw
- Fully automated finishing department
- Additional woodworking and production equipment
The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and have a strong understanding of production flow, machinery, finishing, quality control, and scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of daily production
- Manage workflow across machining, assembly, and finishing
- Plan and manage production schedules and priorities
- Ensure jobs move through the shop efficiently and on time
- Maintain high standards of quality control
- Monitor output from the automated finishing department to ensure quality and consistency
- Identify production problems and ensure they are dealt with quickly and effectively
- Coordinate workflow between machines, departments, and employees
- Monitor production capacity and adjust scheduling when priorities change
- Ensure employees understand job requirements,
specifications, and deadlines
- Work closely with management to resolve production, scheduling, quality, staffing, and equipment issues
- Maintain accurate production information and documentation
- Help improve processes, productivity, organization, and accountability throughout the shop
- Ensure equipment-related problems are identified and communicated promptly
- Create a production setting where problems are addressed with urgency, accountability, and follow-through
Qualifications The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong experience in woodworking, millwork, manufacturing, or a similar production environment
- Previous experience managing or supervising a production team
- Strong knowledge of production scheduling and workflow
- Excellent understanding of quality-control procedures
- Experience working around CNC equipment and industrial woodworking machinery
- Experience with automated production or finishing equipment is an asset
- Strong computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar software
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- The ability to prioritize multiple jobs and changing deadlines
- A proactive management style with a strong sense of urgency
- The ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a professional and productive work environment
What We Are Looking For This position is best suited to someone who takes ownership of production rather than simply monitoring it.
We are looking for a manager who sees a problem and deals with it, understands what needs to ship and when, communicates clearly with the production team, and makes sure quality and deadlines do not get overlooked.
You must be comfortable making decisions, setting priorities, following up with employees, and keeping production moving in a busy manufacturing environment.
The Production Manager will be expected to have a strong presence on the shop floor and maintain visibility across all areas of production, including machining, assembly, and our automated finishing department.
Compensation
Starting wage: $38–$45 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and ability to manage a complete production operation.
