Duties
- Measure and assess building surfaces to determine siding requirements accurately.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, removing old siding, and ensuring proper insulation and moisture barriers are in place.
- Use hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, levels, and saws to install different siding materials including vinyl, wood, fiber cement, or metal.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure precise installation according to specifications.
- Apply caulking around seams and joints to ensure weatherproofing and a qualified finish.
- Lift heavy siding panels safely using proper techniques and equipment to prevent injury.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining safety standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with construction or carpentry work, especially siding installation or related trades.
- Proficiency with hand tools and familiarity with blueprint reading.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively throughout the workday.
- Knowledge of caulking techniques for weatherproofing and sealing joints.
- Strong understanding of building materials and exterior finishing processes.
- Handyman experience is a plus, demonstrating versatility across various repair tasks.
